PAYROLL & BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR TO APPLY

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator reports to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for managing, developing and administering the company’s multi-state payroll systems and processes, in addition to the administration of the company benefits program for all employees.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Analyzes, interprets and administers company payroll. Specific payroll responsibilities include:

  • Point person for PayeXpert and HR/B; work with ADP to process and administer company payroll and benefits
  • Maintains of all ADP programs, run reports daily
  • Ensures the accuracy of every paycheck and manages direct deposits and ensures accuracy
  • Administers garnishments, liens, child support, and wage attachments correctly
  • Updates address/name changes as needed (looks to see if the state taxes match the address changes)
  • Processes profit sharing and on-the-spot bonuses and processes commissions and DPAY checks
  • Makes benefit changes/additions as allowed by plan, state, or federal requirements
  • Ensures L&I deductions are set-up correctly and withhold the correct amounts
  • Ensures payroll deductions are set-up correctly and withhold the correct amounts
  • Processes terminations within the payroll systems in a timely manner
  • Changes pay/departments/shifts for the employee within the payroll systems in a timely manner
  • Processes manual checks as needed/required
  • Resolves payroll issues as they arise, to the best of ability and working towards total employee satisfaction
  • Performs all year-end payroll/benefits updates/tasks so that the new year begins correctly
  • Sends VOSS reports to Supervisors/Managers/Other Locations after the payroll has been rung

2. Analyzes, interprets and administers the company benefit programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, 401(k) plan, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absences.

3. Keeps records of benefit plans participation such as insurance and pension plans, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers and, terminations.

4. Plans and conducts new employee benefits/401(k) orientation no later than three days after a new hire’s employment begins.

5. Reconciles all invoices for health insurance, life products, various taxes, payroll, etc.

6. Educates employees on company benefits and resources.

7. Conducts FMLA procedures with employees.

8. Maintains and administers ADP accounts for the entire Company: iPaystatements, iReports, Employease, etc.

9. Administers Kronos system for the entire organization.

10. Meets all company work schedule and attendance expectations, and performs within the physical and environmental demands of the job.


ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manages various projects as assigned by the Controller or Human Resources Manager.

2. Trains the HR team, company staff, and employees on ADP products..



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

2. 2+ years of experience owning a payroll function

3. 2+ years of experience administering benefits programs

4. Applicable knowledge of local, state, and federal laws impacting payroll and benefits

5. Knowledge of payroll, benefits, and human resources principles

6. Strong oral and written communication skills

7. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including word processing and spreadsheets

8. Needs to be able to work independently and work towards meeting goals as required


ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience working within ADP payroll systems or Oracle

2. Accounting background

3. Accreditation certificate in Payroll & Benefits administration (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP)
